Dry skin care requires you to monitor your washing habits and to be careful when buying skin care products. Remember that skin care for dry skin types have more moisturizing needs than other skin types. Below are five dry skincare solutions you might wish to try.
1. Choose products that offer more moisturising treatment for your skin. Using petroleum-based products may have adverse effects on your skin, as these do not moisturise as well as others. Look for natural hypoallergenic ingredients in dry skin care products, as these provide good skin nourishment. Pat your skin using organic skin care products like virgin coconut oil, after a shower. These nourish your skin as they have protein and vitamins A, D, and E.
2. Tap water can irritate your skin as it has fluoride and chlorine. Use mineral water instead. Avoid using solutions that have alcohol in its ingredients, so read the labels carefully. These would be the less advertised natural dry skin care products that won’t irritate your skin. They work in that they leave your skin with a clean feel after the clean out the pores.
3. Don’t shower too long. The reason is that you’ll be showering using tap water, which isn’t good. Just three minutes in the shower is sufficient, as healthy skin care means avoiding irritants. Mild soap, a dry skin product, is good for soft-scrubbing and for use every other day. Scrubbing too hard isn’t good. Oatmeal soap of the mild type is good for your skin, as it doesn’t cause adverse reactions. Right after you shower, pat dry.
4. On those itchy and red areas. Sometimes you notice itchy spots on your skin and scalp. Don’t scratch them. For dry skin treatment, apply some shea butter twice a day on those areas, and don’t let water splash on those affected parts. Dry skin, take note, is vulnerable to the elements in the product ingredients and the environment. So just to be safe, add in your meals some organic butter, coconut oil, and fresh water fish.
5. A humidifier is a good investment. You need something that would add moisture in the area where you often stay, so you need a humidifier. Because any place devoid of moisture is bad for you skin.
Using natural products is also good for dry skin care. Try some plain vitamin E oil, available at most pharmacies and retail stores. This oil is usually very thick and so the skin can absorb it over time and it works very well under makeup. Using natural products also means less irritation to your face which is very important for dry skin care. When the face is irritated it uses up what natural oils it may have resulting in even worse dry skin.
